Spacecube is an asymmetrical modular seating system conceived for both residential and workplace environments. Designed to make the most of the available space, it is composed of smaller and larger modules that can be combined in different configurations, while integrated poufs slide beneath the structure when not in use and can be pulled out as additional seats or footrests. The composition follows a sense of “freely asymmetrical balance,” where equilibrium is achieved through proportion rather than symmetry. Spacecube is conceived as an evolving system, in which independent modules can be added and reorganised over time according to changing needs, echoing the adaptable logic of Archigram’s Plug-In City. Translated to the scale of furniture, this logic allows the sofa to expand, contract and adapt to the space around it.
